The
Forest Park Southeast Development Corp. voted to renew the expiring
terms of Phil Minden and Megan Phillips at its February board meeting,
citing the need for continuity in light of the corporation’s financial
situation. The board re-elected Phil Minden as president, Amrit Gill as treasurer and Mark Barnett as secretary.
The Board briefly debated the possibility of merging the Forest Park Southeast Development Corp. and Central West End Midtown Development, creating one development corporation for most of the 17th Ward. Alderman Joe Roddy will be asked to attend the next meeting to provide more information.
Board members are also exploring a plan to join with Restoration St. Louis to create an LLC for the purpose of pursuing new market tax credits. The tax credits, offered by the U.S. Treasury, offer incentives for businesses to invest in low-income areas.
In
other business, the board reviewed the financial and executive
director’s reports, discussed personnel matters and approved the
January meeting minutes.
