The Garden District Commission has selected a group led by Brent Crittenden of Urban Improvement Construction to develop 28 new and rehabilitated homes on the 4200 block of McRee Ave. in Botanical Heights. The GDC has identified this block for the next major phase of residential development west of Thurman Ave. Two display homes are planned to be under construction this fall.
AmerenUE is constructing a new substation on the 4100 block of Folsom Ave. to replace an outdated facility at Folsom and Thurman Ave. The utility worked with the Garden District Commission and Botanical Heights Neighborhood Association to locate and design the new substation. It will be operational by the end of this year.
